How to Index a page from Google Webmaster Tool



In this article I am going to explain how to index a page in Google. First of all let me explain the meaning of indexing-

Indexing is the term of Google which means that your page is crawled by spider. There is a software called index software and when we publish article then spider crawl and send it to it in query software.

The reason why spider don’t crawl your page is not having a good quality of content. So here’s my question if you want to index a page that don’t have any quality content so how will you access that page???

Let me explain this topic how to index a page in Google. We can index a page in Google Search Engine by Google webmaster tool. So if you want to index a page then you have to verify your page from Google webmaster tool.

Google webmaster tool is a free tool from Google from where you can track your website health and all kind of issues like 404 or any kind of malware, virus in your website. Apart from these you can also update your sitemap and can add robots.txt file. If you want to highlight your page in Search Engine Results Pages you can do it by Google webmaster tool

To access all this all the features from Google Webmaster Tool you need to verify and set up Google webmaster tool with your website.

Visit website https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/home. Login with your Gmail User name and password. If you don’t have then you can create account. Now at right side of the Webmaster panel, Click on Add A Site.

Now Type your website link and select to verify your website with Google Webmaster Tool. Here you can see GWT provides the numerous method to verify so here I would recommend you to use meta tag method.

You need to paste that code in Head section. If you don’t want to use html tag then download a file and you need to upload on the web server. Once you done verification method sooner Google Web master tool verify your website and then you can access full features.

Indexing a Page from Google Webmaster Tool

  1. Click Submit to Index, shown next the status of a recent, successful fetch in the Fetches Table.
  2. Select Crawl only this URL to submit one individual URL to the Google for re-crawling. You can submit up to 500 individual URLs per week in this way.
  3. Select Crawl this URL and its direct links to submit the URL as well as all the other pages that URL links to for re-crawling. You can submit up to 10 of requests of this kind per month.
  4. Click Submit to let Google know that your request is ready to be processed.

Once you submit your URL, you might need to wait some time for Google to process your request as well as crawl and index the page. Also, understand that we can’t guarantee that Google will index all your changes as Google relies on a complex algorithm to update indexed materials.
